Tour de Femme
I received a lovely email today from Helen, with a photo she had taken this morning right before she headed off to work. Canberra’s streets are filling up with cyclists as this weather warms up and Helen is one of dozens of women taking advantage of the sunshine and heading out in a gorgeous frock. Thank you Helen! Love the hat & scarf!
She also mentioned the Tour de Femme which is coming up in a couple of weeks. The course is basically a lap of the West Basin of Lake Burley Griffin, and Helen is planning to do the ride ‘chic-style’ which means fashionably slowly
It’s about 20kms, and coincidentally my family rode that route yesterday and it was fine. And by fine I mean you can just about do it on a 3-speed (though I was very glad for my 8 gears). It’s a really gorgeous and picturesque ride through gardens and parks and forests. If you’ve never done it before you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Unfortunately I’m busy that Sunday but if you were thinking of challenging yourself to something a bit more adventurous I’m sure Helen would be grateful for some chic company! Feel free to get in touch with her via the comments here.
Thanks again Helen! Perhaps we’ll see you this Sunday at the first November Cycle Chic Sunday ride.
